The
GK-12 Fellowship Program at Florida State University is dedicated to
both increasing the number
of science professionals who are willing to make meaningful contributions
to the K-12 science and mathematics enterprise and to enhancing the
science and mathematics teaching practice of K-12 teachers. Graduate
Students
in the program are given a foundation in teaching and learning to facilitate
use of their scientific and technical expertise in teaching K-12 students.
While training as research scientists, the graduate students become
resource aides for area K-12 schools by providing teachers with teaching
assistance,
new curriculum, experience in inquiry-based teaching, technical and
scientific knowledge, and networking capabilities.
